Treat the writing as a short sprint or the intense play within 2 feet away from the touch line and your opponents 7 inches away. Achieving this description or narration that arrest your readers to hold their breath and make their hearts pound is your goal and prize.

As the athlete from the desk, or laptop, you need to move your readers to go on the field or attend live on the spectator stand or screen. You make the market and influence their interest; you are the gym for gearing up sports participation passively or in active....start making the splash constantly. Whoosh!

However do not be crude, nasty or insulting in nature and you will be championing yourself a trophy to write a valuable niche of sports writings for the good of the world.

Though your field of expertise and competition is on the keypad or writing pad, you are not exempted to feel and live as a sportsperson producing high results and win the writing spirit.

Writing Sports: Spotlight on Subject

When you write on a sport, you ought to be a writing sportsman yourself and that means zoning on your target.

The story you tell must spotlight on the subject, be it the persons, events or things related. To have many targets and not direct to a major one will sink into the shallowness of your readers and miss the point of writing.

Now to interest your readers, you must provide the essential data and that means you have a treasury of words and phrases to express your subject. The other side of capturing your readers will be your composed presentation that nails your point and make a deep impression on your readers.

Writing Sports: General/ Specific, Objective and Storyboard

In this broad category, do survey what you are going to categorize. To begin with, determine if you are going to be general or specific.

For example, I may just be general in writing on the upcoming commonwealth games and so will hunt for broad spectrums and perspectives of sports in the commonwealth games. If I am critically reviewing on the soccer match between India and Sri Lanka, be prepared to have all the detailed information on this match in deep focus.

Then be very certain the objectives you want to achieve out of these choices. If say, you are predicting on the outcome of the match as mentioned earlier, do storyboard your work to be interesting and to the point. Be clear to present what are facts and what are your opinions.

Be matured in drawing conclusions for your opinions and always create anticipation for your readers to follow up to the real match in this case.
