Writing Resume: Step 5: Rule: Have A Captivating Summary To Begin

For the benefit of your resume screeners, imagine that they have to run through piles of applications which they do so by browsing through the resume within seconds, so include in the beginning a summary of experience that captures your would be employer. Go straight to what they are looking for. These information are found from the company's profile you have researched on earlier and from the job requirements that are posted for hire.

From here, you will have to catch their attention within a sentence for each separate experience. So think and strive for relevant words that your screeners are looking for. To test, browse through your summary and see if you have the correct words that conjure the idea your screeners are targeting. If  in a quick read this is accomplished, then you would expect the screeners to read on into the next section of your resume.

Do make sure that error-free grammar runs in your application, while in the process of coming up with a summary that gives the right punch.
